Practical considerations are fundamental to perfecting your music choices here. (How ever much you love your favourite piece, you also want your guests to enjoy the experience…) Top 3 to our practical recommendations are:
1. Think about the sentiment. Some couples consider this moment to be more reflective, while others are hugely up-beat and lively. That’s personal. But remember, it’s the moment you’re formalising your vows. You’re reflecting on the beautiful memories you’ve made together, and also looking to spending the rest of your lives with each other.
2. ‘COULD THE BRIDE MOVE TO HER LEFT?!’ Most couples are photographed at this point. Whether it’s a professional, a relative, or all of your guests, people will be giving and receiving instructions. So let’s not make life harder than it needs to be, and not shock your guests with the loudest piece known to man…
3. Timing is crucial. While we find that it normally takes about 8 minutes to sign the register, your registrar may have a preference. Ask them for their advice, and agree with them what you would like from the artistic side of signing the register. Expert advice is the best way to get your ceremony music right first (and on the only!) time.
